And I'm like, "Why? No, no, no, no." But as far as things that I see, that I recommend for people to do themselves, I am a huge fan of using paint, and paint is one of those things ... It's inexpensive, it's not super permanent, it's not dangerous, right? You can live in your house while you paint.

So, when it came time for Roth and her husband to look for their first home, she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and build their own. What started as a weekend project soon turned full-time for the couple when they realized that weekends alone wouldn't cut it. It wasn't long before Roth, in 2012, left her day job to focus on not only building her own home, but also designing homes for other people.
Help! I Wrecked My House, Season 4, Episode 1: Japandi Dreaming
Literally, yesterday, I took everything out of my drawers and I opened my drawers, pulled everything out, put it all up on the counter, and organized it on the counter and then measured. And I'm going to add dividers in my drawers because that way, my spatulas don't get mixed in with all of my ... The things that I'm not as into right now, my clients on the episode last night had wood-look porcelain tile floors. And while I do like tile floors, I feel like the wood-look tile, it can be a little bit frustrating to work with. I've always had a tough time with that material. So I would recommend to my clients, rather than using that wood look porcelain tile, they could save a lot of money and get a lot of the durability out of a luxury vinyl plank.

He and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds planned to tour damaged areas, and Pillen planned a news conference later Saturday in Omaha. She said the agency planned to send out multiple crews over the next several days to determine the number of tornadoes and their strength, and that it could take up to two weeks to finish the evaluation. He said crews are now doing a second search of homes.
We can’t show every minute of the construction process in a one-hour show. I encourage everyone to take everything they see with a grain of salt. Know social media is a highlight reel. Think about how long something will take, how will be done and how much is it going to cost. Aside from my personal health challenges, we explored and opened up our minds to what it means to wreck your house.
But other than that, personally, not that much has changed. Professionally though, a lot has changed, and as you can imagine, having your own TV show is one of those things that I wasn't necessarily trying to do. It was something I fell into and it was an awesome opportunity that I was able to take advantage of. But yeah, I can't imagine life without HGTV. And then the second thing about this season that people should know is, I broke my ankle halfway through.
The four-bedroom house was purchased by the Roths as a new build, allowing Jasmine full reign over the design. She opted for mostly simple neutral tones throughout the home but incorporated warm wood and stone features that brought the mountainous terrain surrounding the house inside. In classic Jasmine fashion, the designer also included a hidden play place for Hazel in the nook beneath the home’s staircase. It’s always amazing how fast they air. That’s why I constantly have to remind myself…it’s about the journey not the destination. 💪🏼 💯,” Brian Kleinschmidt from “100 Day Dream Home” commented.

And the other thing, I share all of my paint colors on my website, so I'll just ... Shameless plug for my website, but I do find it really helpful. People are just like, "Oh, what color should I paint my front door?" Even my friends ask me. They'll be like, "What color should we paint our front door?" I'm like, "Just go to my website. It's, literally, all right there." Yeah, so there was one family that we worked with that I feel like ... Half of my job is getting through and trying to really help my clients and these homeowners realize their boundaries, how I mentioned before, and there was one family that I think ...
SPECIAL PROJECT: LIVE EDGE TABLE WITH A CUSTOM BASE CREATED BY BRODERICK
I'm still nice, but I'm definitely a little bit more stern and a little bit more, I don't know, intentional with just making sure that people understand the why as to ... Home renovation can be really dangerous. And so, yeah, I don't let people off the hook this season. Yeah, and I think it's a matter of understanding our boundaries, right, and our limits. I will post a project on social media, even on HGTV. We do it all the time, but because of the nature of social media, things have to be cut down, and so you watch something for 15 seconds that takes literally weeks and weeks and weeks to do, or you see something online and it looks so easy.
🤦🏼♀️,” Roth wrote in her post’s caption. Instead of just using standard open kitchen shelving, I called in an industrial artist and metal designer to help me create a custom piece that has some serious wow factor. The custom shelving divider was mounted from the ceiling to the kitchen countertops to provide a dynamic design element in two rooms at once. My intention was to make the two spaces seamlessly blend together, allowing for a functional entertaining area when friends and family visit. I find myself in a position where I think I can do something and can’t. We jokingly coin the term this season called TV-easy.
With the dining area right off of the kitchen and visible from the living room, I wanted to play up the beachy boho style that incorporated the best of both rooms. I used neutral colors, greenery, and a large rattan pendant light to add visual interest and light up the gallery wall. We also added a live edge wood table from Lou Sarg Woodwork, and custom banquette seating, to accomplish this look. I just wanted to hopefully open some people's eyes.
I can't tell you exactly what I have coming up, but I have some really fun ... There's so many awesome, different networks that are all together now, or yeah, different networks, and so being able to maybe do some cross-collaboration, is what I'm working on right now. But yeah, so it's cool to be out of even my hometown and just have somebody come up and be like, "Oh my gosh, I just pre-ordered your book," or like, "Oh my gosh." And so, that has been, a little bit, something for me and my husband to get used to.
So it's called LVP, so I'm getting real technical here. You can just literally search it online and all these different results will come up. And it's something that there's not really a right or wrong way to do, so that's why I like this as a project. You would take maybe paint and just do a big circle on the wall. And so, yeah, it's just a fun way, and if you get sick of it, you can just paint right over it.
So luxury vinyl plank, LVP, is what I recommend for 99% of my clients. It's really durable, it's waterproof, and you get a lot of that same durability, but it's a lot less expensive than a wood-look tile. So I'm pretty sure I just said every show.
Residents began sifting through the rubble Saturday after a tornado plowed through suburban Omaha, demolishing homes and businesses as it moved for miles through farmland and into subdivisions, then slamming an Iowa town. KETV-TV video showed one woman being removed from a wrecked home on a stretcher in Blair, a city just north of Omaha. Lt. Bonacci said many homes were destroyed or severely damaged. “You definitely see the path of the tornado,” he said.
Even as the National Weather Service worked to evaluate the damage, the forecast for later Saturday was ominous for northwestern Texas and across western Oklahoma. FEMA also said the tornado outbreak could extend into Kansas and Missouri. “It’s heartbreaking to see these people who have lost houses, cars, essentially their life until they have to rebuild it,” he said, urging people to stay away because of downed power lines. After hitting the airport, the storm moved into Iowa, taking aim at the small town of Minden. Another tornado passed over Eppley Airfield on the eastern edge of Omaha, destroying four hanger buildings with 32 privately owned planes inside.
